RAM 1500 Classic: Still Available for Order in Canada

It\'s hard to say whether it\'s nostalgia or simply because of aggressive pricing, but RAM dealers are still flooded with orders for the 1500 Classic truck. I don\'t know about you, but for me, this says a lot about the current state of the automotive industry.

While most manufacturers focus on innovation and introduce a new model generation every 4 to 6 years, RAM has decided to continue offering the same truck for as long as possible. Well, that\'s not exactly what happened.

The Law of Supply and Demand

When the 5th generation RAM 1500 hit the market in 2019, the American manufacturer decided to continue offering the 4th generation under a different name—the RAM 1500 Classic. This generation originally debuted in 2008, which is an eternity in the automotive industry. To give you some perspective, back in 2008, electric cars were rare, and some new models still came with a cassette player.

Sure, the RAM 1500 Classic has evolved slightly over the years, but the design hasn\'t changed much. This allowed the American automaker to continue offering it at a very competitive price. What was initially meant to be a temporary situation has ended up becoming permanent. The RAM 1500 Classic was supposed to last a year or two while the 5th generation RAM 1500 gained traction in the market. But things turned out differently.

One Last Production Batch

If you\'ve been following the news, you\'re probably wondering why we\'re still talking about the RAM 1500 Classic since the manufacturer announced the end of its production earlier this year. Well, it turns out the model became a victim of its own success once again. That\'s why RAM decided to restart production one last time.

For this final production run, there will only be one model available: the popular RAM 1500 Classic Warlock 4x4 with a full-size cab and a 5-foot-7-inch bed. However, buyers will have the choice between two engines—the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the 5.7-liter HEMI V8.
