We now have some technical specifications regarding the mechanical aspect of the RAM 1500 REV 2023, the first fully electric truck from the American manufacturer. Let me tell you that the numbers are very impressive, and if they turn out to be true, the competition will have a lot of catching up to do with the RAM 1500 REV 2025.
• Electric motor with 654 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque
• 0-100 km/h in less than 4.4 seconds
• Up to 800 kilometers of range
• A new high-end Tungsten version
Stellantis is known for pushing the extremes, and the same goes for the group's electric models. The American manufacturer's truck boasts a power output of over 654 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque. With this power, the RAM 1500 REV 2025 could go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.4 seconds, which is very fast for a vehicle of this size.
That's not all, as the RAM 1500 REV 2025 will also be capable of offering a maximum towing capacity of 6,300 kg or 13,889 pounds. As for payload, it is limited to 1,200 kg or 2,645 pounds, which is very respectable for this segment.
Batteries and Range
RAM has chosen to offer two battery options for its 100% electric truck. The RAM 1500 REV 2025 will therefore offer a battery with a capacity of 168 kWh as an entry-level option. This allows the American manufacturer's truck to provide an estimated range of 560 kilometers, which is already very impressive in itself. However, the RAM 1500 REV 2025 offers a battery with an even higher capacity of 229 kWh, which allows it to provide a range of 800 kilometers according to the American manufacturer's estimates. It's simply amazing.
The American manufacturer's truck will also offer bidirectional charging, which means that it can also serve as a charging station when needed. It can also be used as a source of electricity in the event of a power outage at home or simply as a generator for construction equipment, which is sure to appeal to construction workers. The RAM 1500 REV 2025 benefits from an 800-volt architecture, which makes it compatible with 350 kW stations. Thus, the American manufacturer's truck can recover 175 kilometers of range in less than 10 minutes.
Five versions
Although the price range of the RAM 1500 REV 2025 has not yet been revealed, we now know that the American manufacturer's truck will be offered in five different trim levels. The Tradesman version will serve as the entry-level model, followed by the Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, and Limited versions. RAM will also introduce a brand new version called Tungsten to its truck lineup.
RAM has not yet announced a date for the launch of its truck, but as it is a 2025 model, we can assume that the RAM 1500 REV will arrive in dealerships somewhere in 2024.
