Willowbrook gets set for the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler

If we had a dime for every customer who's asked us at Willowbrook Chrysler when the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be available.

Here and among our clientele in Langley and across the Lower Mainland, the Jeep Wrangler is a perennial favourite, and we've been impatiently awaiting details about the new 2018 edition along with everyone else! We thought we'd preview the new JL (previous generation: JK) model for you.

Premiere in Los Angeles

Now, with the 2018 Jeep Wrangler having taken home the title of "Hottest 4x4 SUV" at the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas (for the eighth consecutive year!), and with the official premiere set for the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, some more detailed information is trickling out, and to be honest what we're learning is doing absolutely nothing to dampen our enthusiasm at Willowbrook Chrysler!

Here's what we know so far, as per information provided by FCA: the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler will offer owners improved off-road performance and fuel efficiency, and it will feature a wider roster of open-air options and safety, drive assist and other cutting-edge tech systems.

Heavily personalizable

Word from Mopar is that buyers of the 2018 Wrangler will get unprecedented opportunities to personalize their vehicle, with over 200 new Jeep Performance Parts and Accessories being made available. We can picture some of our Jeep-loving customers going all-in with off-road bumpers, lift kits, beadlock-capable wheels, LED off-road lights, custom graphics and on and on!

The interior of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler promises to be a blend of modern and traditional, to the delight of fans of that classic Jeep look and feel who are also pining for the latest comfort, safety and infotainment systems. The latest version of FCA's vaunted Uconnect system will be included, and we're hearing that dual-zone climate control and heated steering wheel will be available as options.

It's expected that the towing capacity of the new Wrangler will be around 3,500 lbs (1,590 kg), even though we've heard that the vehicle itself will be quite a bit lighter than the previous generation (which itself bodes well for the vehicle's already-impressive fuel efficiency!).

Pickup version?

Lastly, just to get your juices flowing, stories continue to circulate about a possible pickup version of the Jeep Wrangler JL generation, perhaps sometime in 2019. We can think of a few Willowbrook customers in the Langley area who will be lining up for that one! In any case, we expect the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be just a big of a hit with our customers as the last edition, and we'll be keeping you posted about details and arrival dates for it. Stay tuned!
