Its present format has remained largely unchanged since 2011. And while it remains supremely popular with consumers in B.C. and across Canada, the time is coming due for some more significant revamping of Dodge's beloved Charger.
The 2018 Dodge Charger, now available at Willowbrook Chrysler, got some minor tweaks, but the big changes are being reserved for the transformed 2019 Dodge Charger the engineers and designers is currently working on. We take a look at what's in store of the many lovers of Dodge's affordable performance car!
For starters, word is that some of the platform the 2019 Dodge Charger is being built on will be taken from the latest edition of the Chrysler 300, just introduced on the market; expect a slightly longer wheelbase and wider stance. The car will feature standard rear-wheel drive with available all-wheel drive, and likely be powered by V6 and V8 engines like the current model with its Pentastar V6 and V8 HEMI, though they will be different in substance. As for the transmission, it should be of the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic variety.
One area in which big changes are expected is fuel-efficiency. Dodge engineers are working on lightening the vehicle (that new platform will likely be mostly of aluminum, significantly reducing weight) to help maximize fuel economy as well as fine-tuning and upgrading other systems in the name of saving further on fuel consumption. At the same time, expect a still-strong focus on performance - die-hard fans of the Charger would settle for nothing less, after all! - via enhancements touching on the engine as well as the chassis technologies, and a continuation of the sporty and aggressive contours and driving dynamics. Inside, upgraded seats, new steering wheel, a more-customizable instrument cluster and a reworked floor plan for added roominess are also said to be areas of focus for its designers.
we're excited to offer such a unique choice of new Dodge Chargers and other performance-minded new Dodge models, as well as high-in-demand pre-owned Dodge Charger models to buyers in Langley and across the Lower Mainland of B.C.! But we admit we're also keeping an eye to the future, specifically to the summer of 2018 when we could expect to catch our first glimpses in images or at auto shows of the revamped 2019 Dodge Charger. Stay tuned right here as we provide updates and further details as we get them!
